The Viking 70 Convertible introduces the next evolution of one of Viking’s most established platforms. Built on a clean-sheet design, this next generation 70 Viking reflects decades of experience and real-world performance from a team that continues to refine how a sportfishing yacht should run, fish, and excel offshore.
At just over 70 feet, it sits in a range that works for serious fishing programs and extended trips—offering the space and capability of a larger boat without the added complexity.
The Gen II 70 Viking replaces the original model with a completely new hull and updated layout, drawing from the performance and design advancements seen in Viking’s 74, 82, and 90. Every adjustment—from hull shape to interior flow—was made with real experience in mind. The result is a boat that feels balanced underway, efficient over distance, and practical to operate day in and day out.
The Viking 70 features a newly developed hull with subtle refinements across the running surface. Adjustments to deadrise, chine placement, and strake geometry improve how the boat performs in varying conditions. A slightly narrower beam compared to similar models enhances efficiency and contributes to a smoother, drier ride. These changes are noticeable offshore, especially over longer runs where consistency and comfort matter.
The hull also incorporates an extended cockpit that has been engineered into the design from the start, maintaining proper balance and running attitude.
The Viking 70 is designed to deliver strong, reliable performance across a range of offshore conditions. Engine options include MAN and MTU packages, both paired with Viking’s Advanced Propulsion System.
With flow-aligned running gear, propeller pockets, and electronic power steering, the 70 is expected to reach speeds in the low 40-knot range, depending on configuration, while maintaining control and efficiency underway.
The cockpit has been lengthened to provide more usable space during tournament conditions, giving crews room to move without affecting how the boat runs. Everything is laid out with anglers in mind—from backing down to wiring a fish. Visibility from the bridge stays consistent, and the space supports how the boat is actually fished offshore.
The bridge is designed for total control and visibility, whether running offshore or maneuvering in tournament conditions.
The Viking 70 is available in Open Bridge, Enclosed Bridge, and Sky Bridge configurations, allowing owners to tailor the boat to their program. The open bridge is set up for visibility and ease of operation, with a centered helm and clean layout that keeps everything within reach.
The reshaped bridge overhang improves aft visibility—an important detail when maneuvering or fishing.
Inside, the 70 is designed for comfort and usability over extended time onboard, with a layout that flows naturally between the cockpit, salon, and galley.
A dayhead is positioned just inside the salon door for quick access during long days offshore. The galley can be configured based on owner preference, offering two distinct layouts that maintain an open feel without sacrificing functionality.
All interior components are built in Viking’s in-house Mill, with horizontal-grain walnut finishes throughout.
The 70’sportfish yacht features a four-stateroom, five-head layout designed for both comfort and efficiency. The full-beam master anchors the space, with a forward VIP and additional guest staterooms rounding out the layout. The forward stateroom can be configured with either a queen berth or crossover bunks, adding flexibility depending on how the boat is used. Aft, the crew stateroom has its own staircase and direct access to the engine room, allowing for efficient movement during trips or tournament use.
The engine room is designed with accessibility and long-term ownership in mind. Systems are positioned for ease of maintenance, and visibility is enhanced with a Snow White Awlgrip finish.
Everything is laid out to support routine service and long-term reliability.
The next generation Viking 70 reflects decades of experience from Viking’s design, engineering, and production teams. Many of the same individuals have been involved in developing these boats for years, bringing consistency to how each model evolves.
With more than 220 yachts delivered in the 68- to 72-foot range, the knowledge gained from previous builds directly shapes this new model—refining performance, layout, and usability where it matters offshore.
We have worked alongside Viking for more than 30 years, building one of the longest-standing relationships in the industry. That experience carries through every step of the process—from selecting your layout to taking delivery and beyond.
