Vicem Yachts, the noted Turkish builder of fine handcrafted classic style motor yachts are well known for their high level of quality, joinery and elegance. They utilize only the finest materials and state of the art composite construction techniques. To set the groundwork for a finely constructed boat, each Vicem hull is hand laid and cold molded. The exterior of the hull is covered with a layer of E-glass woven cloth with epoxy and finished with Awlgrip paint. The cockpit sole and decks are covered with Teak decking.
This construction method, preferred by some of the world's leading builders, has been perfected over the last thirty years through the research of West System epoxy. Cold molding produces an incredibly strong structure, in fact, Vicem's mahogany-epoxy hulls have among the highest strength-to-weight ratio in the industry. An added benefit is the quiet solid feeling of this hull moving through the water unlike the highly resonant noise of a foam core composite.
