Princess V50 OPEN

The Princess V50 and V50 Open are at the mid-range of the Princess V series of luxury yachts.

A double sun pad on the foredeck and a triple one aft is just waiting for guests to spread out their towels, lie back, and read or snooze in perfect comfort on the V50 Open. A generous, adjacent seating area and table offer a companionable spot for dining and mingling. A sideboard stores bottles and glasses, and a small refrigerator keeps wine, water, soda, and nibbles chilled and close at hand, so trips to the galley don’t interrupt the serenity of an afternoon.

Still another seating area with a folding teak table awaits guests in the cockpit to facilitate a conversation with the pilot and a bird’s-eye view of the horizon. A transom gate leads to the electro-hydraulic swim platform, complete with a dinghy chock system, foldaway swimming ladder, and hot and cold shower. An electrically operated canvas sunroof protects guests from the sun’s rays during the hottest hours of the day. A wet bar includes a sink, cool box, and storage. An optional barbecue can be used to cook the day’s catch al fresco.

The real beauty of the V50 Open’s main deck is her wide-open expanse of living and entertaining space. A sunroof over the helm area opens at the touch of a switch to further expand the space to blur the line between the interior and exterior. From helm to swim platform, the main deck is open to sun and sea.

Below deck, a generous master stateroom has plenty of room for relaxing and reading in privacy. Storage abounds, and a sofa tucked under a large window allows for natural light to focus on a book or handiwork. An en-suite bath includes a full-size shower, sink, and toilet. The guest cabin is slightly smaller and integrates a deck hatch and skylight to flood the space with plenty of light during the day. Optional scissor berths may take the place of the double bed. The en-suite bath can also optionally include day access.

Amidships, the compact yet utterly functional galley features a three-zone ceramic hob powered by natural gas. A combination microwave/convection oven and grill make it easy for chefs to serve up a host of recipes prepared in several ways. The full-size refrigerator/freezer can store enough fresh food to accommodate hungry travelers on long voyages, and plenty of storage distributed among drawers, cabinets, and lockers means there’s a place for everything a gourmet cook might like to take on a journey.
