This past week, July 22-25, Team Galati had the opportunity to attend the 2021 Princess Summer Owners Holiday event with our customers in Provincetown, Massachusetts. The team at Princess Yachts America outdid themselves with an exceptional line-up of attractions, exciting adventures, and unforgettable experiences. Twice a year for over fifteen years, Princess celebrates their family of owners with a special holiday event that many look forward to including our customer, Kevin Lobisser, and his family. “We were looking forward to going to an event with other like-minded yachting enthusiasts (especially other Princess owners), to share our story and experiences with them as well as learning other owners’ stories.”
Check-in day at the Provincetown Marina saw many Princess owners from all over, including our own team members Ashley and Anthony Gathercole, and customers including the Lobisser Family aboard the F50 ”Making Time” and the Sheinkopf Family aboard the F72 “Island Runner”. In the evening, everyone gathered for the welcome reception at the Pilgrim Monument, a highlight for many. “We were able to meet other owners and staff of Princess. Anthony and Ashley Gathercole from Galati were at the event and it was great that we were able to catch up with them and hear about all the great things happening at Galati and in the boating industry. The view was also breathtaking from the monument as we were able to overlook the bay and the marina with all the Princess Yachts.” —Kevin Lobisser, Galati customer and Princess owner
Fun Fact: The Pilgrim Monument is the tallest, all granite structure in the United States, built between 1907 and 1910. It commemorates the first landfall for the Pilgrims in 1620 and the signing of the Mayflower Compact in Provincetown Harbour.
The following morning, breakfast baskets were delivered to each Princess yacht, fueling guests for a day filled with adventure around Provincetown. The day began with an educational walking tour exploring the town’s art, culture, and history. For those that were seeking more of an escapade, they also offered Art Dunes Tour. This experience highlighted the history, culture, and ecology of the Provincetown Dunes in the National Seashore Park. For 75 years, Arts Dune Tours has provided narrated rides through the Peaked Hill Bars Historic District Sand Dunes, catching sight of Pilgrim Lake nestled among the dunes and the famed artists’ dune shacks.
Later in the evening, guests were invited to the Docktail party that did not disappoint. A very inventive night was in the works as each vessel was encouraged to concoct a unique cocktail for an engaging competition. Boats were judged on a 50-point scale with up to 10 points awarded on the following criteria: drink name, flavor, creativity (presentation, attire, theme, music, etc.), enthusiasm, and uniqueness relevant to Provincetown, Cape Cod, or New England. After a very enthralling show, the winner of the competition was the Y78 Princess “Escape”.
Saturday again kicked off with delicious breakfast baskets and a game of pickleball at the marina. All skill levels were welcome to join for a great time. Throughout the day, guests were given the option to explore the town and partake in bike tours, spa appointments, lunch options, art gallery tours, or enjoy Provincetown on foot. In the afternoon, local artist Thomas Acone joined the Princess owners in painting the picturesque city. While exploring creative skills, Thomas taught and inspired guests to paint their own masterpiece at the historic Red Inn while overlooking the harbor.
After the creative afternoon paint session, an all-inclusive dinner by Cape Cod Clam Bake was provided to each Princess Yacht and family. On the menu: hors d’oeuvres, soup, and the entrée including, a 1 1/2lb lobster for each guest, dessert, and wine.
Sunday morning came too soon as guests were scheduled to depart back home, but not before a decadent breakfast aboard. It is safe to say, all who attended had a wonderful time, with memories to cherish for a lifetime. Princess Yachts prides itself on being exceptional and has a rich heritage beginning in 1965. Since then the Princess family has grown to include more than 30,000 owners from over 100 countries across the globe. “We have dreamt about living the yachting lifestyle for many years and our Princess has given us the opportunity to do so.” — Kevin Lobisser
Like the Lobisser family, many use boating as a means to get away and enjoy time with family and friends. When asked what he enjoys most about the yachting lifestyle and his Princess yacht, Kevin stated, “the name of our boat “Making Time” is very significant to us. Having two very active kids and owning our own business can make it very challenging to find time to spend together as a family. We have chosen boating as our primary “getaway” outlet to make the most of the time we have together. Having limited time puts an extreme emphasis on boat reliability and dealer service. To this point, our Princess F50 has delivered us to and from all of our destinations without fail with an incredible safe feeling experience.”
“Choosing Galati as our dealer has also been one of the best decisions since entering the yachting world. When we met Anthony, our broker and now friend, and Darren Plymale at the 2018 Tampa Bay Boat Show we pretty much knew instantly after sitting with many other boat dealers that Galati was the right fit for our family, as we truly felt the customer first “family” mentality, which is how we run our business. To further enhance our customer experience Galati service department and Anthony have always been there to answer any questions and take care of our needs in a timely fashion. This is so critical to have a positive experience with boat ownership!” — Kevin Lobisser, Galati customer and Princess owner
