They call them “Dest-onites” or lovers of emerald water, sugar white sand and of course, yachting. People travel from all over the map to visit what is considered “the most beautiful beaches in America” right in Galati Yacht Sales own backyard. A little fishing town called Destin, Florida.
Destin has 13 beach access points, multiple shopping areas, and to-die-for restaurants. All between strips of stunning beach on the port side and bays and bayous on the starboard. It would be surprising to fit all of the attractions into one weekend. But what is truly unique to this tiny Florida town is the boating lifestyle that allows you to experience Destin from the ocean in.
The Destin Harbor outlines beautiful sites and fun activities. It is also filled in with the emerald blue waters that not even a photograph could capture. Docking is available right at the Harbor Walk. Bars, restaurants, shops, kids attractions (and Galati Yacht Sales) line the boardwalk providing an amazing place to spend the day or dinner with ice-cream and shopping after!
Destin’s oh-so-famous boating-day-out adventure takes place at Crab Island, a true local hangout. Located just on the other side of the Destin bridge. Crab Island is a bright beaming turquoise shallow part of the ocean where the Destin pass ends and the bay begins resulting in the immaculate color. With water just to your knees, Crab Island intends for anchoring out and spending the day on your yacht. As well as swimming and enjoying the unusual things Crab Island has to offer you would normally get on land. Although completely under water, Crab Island has a margarita bar, burger joint, BBQ, Mexican restaurants and even a live band floating on water! If you catch yourself at Crab Island for a holiday or on a weekend, you’ll see boats as far as you can see from the middle of the sand bar!
On the other side of Destin from the Harbor Walk is the beautiful Sandestin Beach & Golf Resort. Consisting of Baytowne Marina, Baytowne Village, beaches, tennis courts, and miles of golf courses. Baytowne Marina is the absolute perfect place to dock your vessel of any size and stay for a week. With a marina bar, outdoor firepit, marina showers, bike, golf cart, and paddle board rentals, it allows you to truly explore the area. Just a 1-minute boardwalk takes you to Baytowne Village, another local and visitor favorite. Perfect for families and children, this village has zip-lining, games such as lazor tag and mazes, toy stores and candy shops. It becomes an adult haven at night. The bars open up around 10 pm with dueling pianos, live music along the cobblestone roads mimicking a New Orleans style with a prestige-resort feel.
