Viking 52 Convertible’s for Sale
More than 50 years of boatbuilding expertise and research go into the manufacture of every Viking. Building a better Viking is a quest to balance weight and weightlessness, speed and stability, and practicality and luxury. The 52 Convertible achieves this balance.
The 52C’s resin-infused hull comprises a mix of materials including balsa coring, DuPont Kevlar, and fiberglass laminates. Carbon fiber, molded fiberglass, and durable, moisture-resistant maple figure heavily in the 52C’s construction.
Viking Yachts are known for their fast running and smooth handling. They overhauled the 52C hull's running surface since Viking's last iteration of convertibles. Its chines have been narrowed to provide a smoother ride and re-angled to channel spray downward. Whether it’s idling or running full out, the 52C handles exceptionally well and gives a relatively dry ride.
Power-assisted hydraulic steering and hydraulic controls monopolize the helm. Among the features that come standard are three electronics consoles and a Glendinning engine synchronizer. A pod-style helm is optional. Twin adjustable pedestal seats as well as lounge and bench seating offer plenty of places to sit and enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the horizon. A tower from Palm Beach Towers and accessories from Atlantic Marine Electronics are available on the 52C as optional equipment.
This mid-size convertible, filled to the gills with necessities and those little extras that make fishing that much more enjoyable. Standard equipment in the 142-square-foot cockpit includes a Glendinning Cablemaster, salt-water and fresh-water washdowns, flush rod holders, and a transom door. Options include a rigging station, bait freezer, tackle locker, fish box, and 40-gallon live well. The extended flybridge deck above provides a nice bit of shade for anglers and onlookers in the cockpit.
The bright salon is awash in glossy teak surfaces and comfortable extras. An L-shape lounge just under the flush-mounted LED TV converts to a sleeper sofa, and built-in cabinetry lines the port side. To starboard, a dinette seat four or five comfortably. The galley sports an island with two bar stools, a unique setup on a boat this size. Lots of storage adds to the utility of the galley, which also offers deep-drawer refrigeration, a dishwasher, and a trash compactor. Large, rectangular windows envelop the salon, imbuing it with a light, airy ambiance.
Three staterooms populate the 52C’s bow. The master has a queen berth and en-suite bath. The forward stateroom is available with a full berth or scissor berths, and the port stateroom has a single berth. The latter two rooms share a bath, and the companionway hosts a standard stackable washer/dryer.
The Viking 52C is a perfect blend of a high-performance fishing trawler and high-comfort cruising yacht: truly the best of both worlds.
