Galati Yacht Sales began in 1970 as a dream and not much else.
Michael Galati Sr. moved to Anna Maria Island in Florida with his wife and their
five young children. He purchased a tornado-devastated marina on Tampa Bay, with
the dream of creating a service and boat dealership.
“We’ll work hard and we’ll make it,” Michael would tell his wife, Anna Maria.
Besides caring for her family, Anna Maria Galati also managed the marina store and
handled all the billing and deliveries. “I remember I would be holding Chris in
one arm and pumping gas for the customers in the other,” she says.
When Michael Galati Sr. passed away in 1992, the company ownership passed to his
children. The Galati siblings were thoroughly prepared to take on a new level of
responsibility as they had been trained in all aspects of the business from the
time they were children.
They have grown it into one of the largest privately held yacht dealerships  in
the world.

VIKING 42′ & 70′

The new Viking 42 Convertible and 42 Open are progressing at a rapid pace and both
models are evolving on a daily basis. At present, the hull mold and the mold for
the deckhouse of the 42 Convertible have been completed. The deck plug (above)
for the 42 Open is being detailed and will be used to produce a flawless mold shortly.

VIKING 70 CONVERTIBLE
Elsewhere in the Viking’s massive 810,000 square-foot facility, the first new 70
Convertible is leading the production line with hulls two and three in close pursuit.
Shown here, you can see the deckhouse of 70703 about to be installed. Look for 70701
powered with 2,600 hp MTU V16 Series 2000 M94 diesels at the fall boat shows.

This
new flagship for the company’s most representative product segment reflects traditional
Tiara timeless style and fine craftsmanship in a serious deepwater fishing and/or

This all-new model features mezzanine aft cockpit seating, fish or cruise hardtop
options – each integrated to the windshield to maximize visibility, large sky light
inviting ample natural light to the interior and an all new interior design. This
new model also continues the company’s ’stealth’ efforts in that the boat is among
the quietest within its class.

Great Fishing Adventure

REEL WORTHLESS first blue water trip of the year.  Our Viking 64 performed flawlessly
on the 3 day trip into the Gulf of Mexico that was not closed by the oil spill.
The fish are there and we did not encounter any signs of the oil.  The water was
great and Captain Myles Colley with mates Alex Pinney, Travis Gill and Guest Bill
Conner never had a dull moment as we encountered large schools of whales and yellow
fin tuna along with our first Blue Marlin of the season which was released in great
shape.  We were also rewarded with some really nice Yellow Edge Grouper, Dolphin
and Wahoo.

The Viking 64 is the finest fishing platform available bar none and I can’t describe
how great our experience has been with Galati Yachts after the sale!!
